Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant is best known as a legendary college football coach. He was a head coach at Maryland, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

During his 25-year tenure as Alabama’s head coach, he amassed six national championships and thirteen conference championships. When he retired in 1982, he held the record for most wins as head coach in collegiate football history with 323 wins.

In 1983, Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Reagan.
