How to Become Strong and Move On
When we are faced with trauma or have too many stressors in our lives, it’s tough to cope with everything. As a result, we can get very depressed or even become suicidal. We feel that life is unfair and that we should be in a different place than we are now. I have felt that way more times than I can count… but I have learned how to become strong and move on.
I’m no longer the rape victim and high school dropout I once was; I’m a certified teacher now. Gone are the days of doing drugs and drinking to cope; I am now happy and feel good on a daily basis. I’m not suicidal, promiscuous, or a prostitute anymore, either; although I once tried to kill myself, I now own a successful business called Wording Well. I’m still a single mom (and always will be!), but my son is now grown, and I’m no longer addicted to gambling. I have money in the bank (ALWAYS), food to eat, a home I love, and a lot of freedom!
You can replicate my success, too, if you use the same, easy-to-apply action steps in your life. Today, I’m going to share 6 of the techniques I have used to move forward in my life with the hopes that you, too, will apply them to your life so that you can finally live a life you are proud of… one WORTH living!
1: Let Go of Your Past
This can be a tough one because most of us believe that our past defines us and that our past has made us who we are today. However, the past is just that… the past. It’s not the present. It’s not the future.
When you learn to let go of the past and stop dwelling on it, you will be much happier and healthier! You can let go of the past by turning your focus to the present and to where you want to be in the future. Do this by writing out your goals. Visualize a day in your “dream life,” and then list the steps you need to take to get from where you are now to where you want to be. This takes work and effort, but if you combine this task with the tasks involved in the other strategies on this list of how to become strong and move on, you will soon find that you will ENJOY the process and it will not seem like work at all! 2: Use Positive Affirmations to Change Your Mindset

Be grateful for what you have and do not think about what you don’t have. There are many people in this world who are worse off than you, and if you focus on this simple fact, you will start feeling better and stronger about your current situation. Even if you are not happy with your current life, by implementing the strategies in this article, your life will begin to improve. Practicing gratitude can change your life!
4: Use the Laws of the Universe to Your Advantage
Have you heard of the Law of Attraction? Or the Law of Abundance? The Law of Attraction states that our predominant thoughts, feelings, and beliefs determine the experiences we attract into our lives, and it uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts to materialize them into a reality. The Law of Abundance states that there is sufficient money (and food, and other riches) in this world for all who really want it and are willing obey the laws governing its acquisition. To use these laws to your advantage, begin by changing your thought processes. You can do this by reciting positive affirmations, which I mentioned in Point #2! 5: Boost Your Self-Confidence
This should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway. To become strong and to move on, you need to boost your self-esteem. You can do this in many ways. Try some of the following tips to start feeling great about yourself. 6 tips to help you boost your self-confidence.
